MUNI Award in Science and Humanitites has got a winner

The new GAMU grant MUNI Award in Science and Humanities has its holder. The award is designed for ERC grant holder or ERC applicant, who received the A rating but was not funded due to a limited budget

The grant worth 5 million CZK a year for 5 years was awarded to the Professor Daniel Král´, who will come to the Faculty of Computer Science from the University of Warwick.

Professor Kráľ is a world leader in discrete mathematics and algorithms. He has been awarded a number of important awards for his work, such as the European Prize in Combinatorics in 2011 and the Philip Leverhulme Prize in Mathematics and Statistics in 2014. He is one of two Czech scientists who have received a multiple grant from the European Research Council (ERC).
